Welcome to zak365.info

I made a New Year's resolution to take a picture of my son, Zak, every day of 2010. As an additional challenge I'm also doing a general daily photoblog in which I'm not allowing myself to use pictures of Zak. Enjoy your daily dose of cuteness here!

Stealing Pillows

Stealing Pillows

Well, Zak and I are both being a little naughty with this photo- he's stealing my pillows, and I'm cheating a bit by using this photo for today. I actually took it late last night (shortly before midnight, so it was close to today, but not quite). We had friends around today and I didn't get another chance to take the camera out!

O-tees in the High Chair

O-tees in the High Chair

We FINALLY got Zak a high chair! Up until now he's been eating in his walker, but he's outgrown that now, and this is so much easier. This high chair also converts to a table and chair, which is cool. Anyway, I bought Zak some O-tees to try, thinking they would be like regular American cheerios. Well, they're not really- they're larger and slightly sweetened, which means they don't dissolve in his mouth well. He loved them, but I kept wondering what he was doing with them once he got them in his mouth. I watched him closely and realised he was swallowing them whole! Looks like mom's finishing off the O-tees!

Knowing Smirk

Knowing Smirk

See that little half-grin? Yeah, that's because he knows that his Daddy already knows everything that's in the iWeek magazine, and he's already told us about it.

My Baby Can Read!

My Baby Can Read!

Ok, maybe not, but he loves books! Look at that little smile! In antenatal classes one day, the leader said that while babies are still in the womb, we're teaching them how to deal with stress. The baby get's mom's stress hormones, then she reacts however she generally does to destress (eat, take a bubble bath, or in my case, read), and baby then gets the endorphins from the destressing activity. In that way, the leader said, we teach our babies how to react to stress. I thought it was funny because apparently that meant I was teaching Zak how to read while he was still in the womb. No wonder he's so smart!

Tired Teddy

Tired Teddy

Zak always rubs his eyes when he gets tired, and we try to give him a shower/bath every night before bed. It makes for lots of cute moments, but I rarely have my camera with me. I'm glad I did this time though!

Grab a Keena by the Tail..

Grab a Keena by the Tail..

Zak does this to Keena upwards of a hundred times a day, and all she does is look at him and eventually walk away when she gets fed up.

Uh oh, Zak seems to be taking after his Auntie Abigail. So far he's 2 for 2 with escape artist and fish tank!

Flower For You?

Flower For You?

Zak apparently took a bite out of this flower a couple minutes after I took this photo without me noticing. When we got back inside I saw a bit of green in his mouth and dug out a good few chunks of flower. He didn't seem to like the taste much- he was quite fussy until Daddy brushed his teeth!
